Storage room vs stair cupboard - is it useful or just hype?

If you don't necessarily depend on this storage room in the hallway, I would leave the stairs open. An open straight staircase just looks good!

Yes, of course that is the optimum if the staircase may be a stylistic element. for me, that would be an absolute no-go and to be avoided, hanging jackets openly under the stairs.

We had something made by the carpenter. Each in the children's room as well as the bedroom from the upstairs floor to the attic. They are used there, among other things, as wardrobes. We find it very practical. I've linked it below. You can see a few pictures there.

So, now we finally have a handrail on the stairs:





and the railings on the two stair cupboards in the children's room and bedroom to the attic are finally installed as well:





The carpenter also built us a bathroom cabinet into the niche.

It's nice. But with this house, the 3000-5000€ really don't matter that much. ;)

Our offer amounts to 6900€ without painting, which my brother-in-law (paint master) will do.

I don't find it beautiful. The whole staircase looks bulky because of it and gets lost.
I find a simple drywall with a dresser or console table in front more harmonious. Then the stairs could still serve as storage.

An open staircase is out of the question for us; we need the storage space.
