Thank you very much in advance for the feedback. We are also not yet sure about the kitchen. It will (have to) be sufficient, but the current furnishing is not correct. We will definitely not have a bar counter, so that there will be more space available overall, and we are considering moving the door to the kitchen as far to the left as possible so that a row of shelves can still be placed on the right side. Alternatively, we could move the wall to the study by the depth of a shelf. We still need to take a closer look at the suggestion above with the dressing room! I can see the merits of all variants. About the property: With a gable-end construction, only about 7m would remain between the house wall and the property boundary on the west side. In addition, the neighbor is more or less forced to position his carport exactly at the height of our terrace due to his building window. I think I would feel too cramped there. To the south runs the dead-end path, and behind it is the front garden of the other neighbors. That feels much more open. Since I am absolutely not a fan of sun, this is definitely a point I also notice. Our current plan is to plant a tree in the garden that can eventually provide shade for the terrace.

... then it is so in another sense as well, and that naturally distorts the comments accordingly.

I would really plan out the kitchen thoroughly. Ikea offers a good option for that. Then just make a list of how many drawers and/or tall cabinets are needed...
I would probably move the door to the left and put a complete tall cabinet wall on the right wall, then an L-shaped kitchen on the left. But that's just an idea.

The idea with the tree is of course logical, but not very effective in midsummer. As soon as the air reaches a certain temperature, a tree doesn’t help anymore. Especially not in the south. Theoretically, you could have the option to make two terraces if you move the house further south, right? I might still think about that.

By around your sixtieth birthday, the tree will have made more than just a noticeable effort. Trees do not grow like weeds.

I find the floor plan somehow really interesting, but personally it would bother me that I absolutely have to walk through the kitchen to get to the living/dining area.

Small kitchens can work, but most of the time there is a lot of stuff lying around, so it doesn’t look particularly tidy. I would therefore swap the dining area and kitchen, making the study and living room a bit smaller. Also change the window and don’t place the sofa in front of the window. Preferably have an exit facing north and a small terrace in front of the hedge there. An idea for this is attached here.

Upstairs, I would make the bedroom and/or the bathroom a bit smaller and the dressing room bigger. That way you can hardly place anything else.
