First of all: the house with the views/architectural style would also be MY house, unfortunately we had to build 1.5 storeys. There are only two of us as well.
>Thank you ;-)
I also like the design at first glance. However, I would immediately criticize the too long corridor, which can be shortened by enlarging the last room accordingly and moving the closet walls forward (corridor side). Then you wouldn't have natural light in the corridor, but that would be worth it to me.
>Many make exactly that mistake...
But what do you need more space there for?
For me, there is nothing worse than a corridor without daylight... I want to be able to look outside...
Window in the shower area is questionable, that would be too open to viewers outside the house
>My husband wants that *eye roll
But there are roller shutters :)
On second glance, the location strikes me: personally I love the west sun, which is too present in summer to give only the home office that privilege.
I would therefore place the kitchen next to the entrance, with windows facing the entrance side and a small west terrace. ... Further things would then of course follow accordingly and change the rest.
>The kitchen was there... But since we grill a lot and eat on the terrace in summer or then sit at the dining table, the kitchen moved to the east...
In our current apartment we have the west sun in the bedroom and bathroom and we don’t miss it...
Question: where is the staircase (retractable staircase?) to the attic floor?
>It goes into the dressing corridor! It's a retractable staircase...
Kitchen: I would swap sink and stove: you have too many dishes, which are placed there and not washed immediately. That would always look somewhat untidy.
>For me, nothing is worse than a stove on an island or kitchen block, because my husband does a lot of quick frying and everything is always grease-splattered there, so the stove must be against the wall and have a glass pane behind it completely.
Also, I miss storage space for kettle, coffee grinder or coffee machine, hand cream and stuff, drink bottles. The area where the stove is now would be needed left or right for those things, that would be too conspicuous, not hidden and then correspondingly too little surface area for working.
>Coffee machine, kitchen machine etc. go on the kitchen block against the wall to the sockets.
Drink bottles go in the bottle cabinet.
On the plan you don’t have such a deep wall (from the pantry) as seen in the kitchen planning.
>Kitchen planning and floor plan do match in measurements...
Do you mean the empty wall? That is then the one from the living room....
Who is the second bedroom for?
>For my husband who snores :-(
Best regards
Katrin
