Oh, sorry, mistake with the stairs. I would remove the storage room and instead plan a wardrobe with a window there – if necessary, you can put a 60 cm cabinet inside, and half a meter is reserved for vacuum cleaner etc. (?). Difficult.

Glass part next to the front door definitely helps. Our situation is similar, we have a passage between the house and the garage with a roof terrace above.

Maybe an idea to give you a few more alternative impulses for thought:

I didn’t feel like fiddling with [Gauben and co] now :D

I agree

.. the master bedroom and the access to the bed side at the top of the plan ... that still wouldn’t be mine. There is a dormer wall at an angle with the roof slope below 2 m. How tall are you?

The intended positions of the wardrobes in the children's rooms make half of the dormer completely useless there. However, due to the positions of the other windows, it is also difficult to place the wardrobes against the walls at the top of the plan. Basically, you should check the dimensions of the drawn-in furniture. Proper wardrobes should always be planned with a depth of 65 cm in this phase. (Ikea-Pax with sliding doors, for example, has a depth of 66 cm).

Hello bluminger,

I wouldn't base the room planning on a piece of furniture that you only use for a few years. From the age of 1 year, we didn't have a changing table anymore but more or less changed the child everywhere, with a pad underneath and done... :) In general, I think you should plan child-friendly but not everything around the children - by the beginning of puberty, the demands are quite different than in the floor-playing age :)

Consider roughly how many linear meters of space you need in the kitchen (based on your current kitchen). You will definitely need more than what is possible with the current floor plan, and the space in the kitchen should actually allow for more.

Why did you hinge all three doors from the living room to the garden on the same side? I would rather take a double door (-> larger free opening) and perhaps a fixed part. Alternatively, a lift-and-slide door, then you can exit barrier-free, but of course, that is a bit more expensive.

Beautiful big house, but there are some things I don’t like so much either. I don’t like the living room at all. The recess to the upper room makes the space awkward and doesn’t bring much benefit. The doors behind the sofa take up a lot of space that is not usable. Additionally, you have the south window opposite the TV and the west window lets in side light. I currently have that as well and often have to darken the room to be able to see anything. If the living room is supposed to have that depth, then I would include the covered terrace area as well. This also makes the hallway straighter and the upper room larger.

A lot has already been said about the kitchen, so I will keep out of that. Regarding the storage room, I think it’s good. However, you’re missing a vestibule or wardrobe area. You enter a relatively long corridor and immediately left and right are doors. Otherwise, you have a spacious house, but when entering it feels very cramped.

I also don’t like the upper bathroom. It is very spacious, but everything is somewhat cramped: small shower, little space by the toilet, etc. It really looks like you planned the bathrooms around the changing tables :-) With so much space, I would treat myself to a nice big shower. If a sauna ever becomes an option for you, you should consider whether you really want to put it in the basement or if you have some space on the upper floor.
I also find the dormers in the children’s rooms very cramped (and I would reverse the window opening directions). If possible, make them a bit wider and put the wardrobes along the top of the plan.
