As a rule of thumb, about +- 1 sqm of window area per 10 sqm of living space is sufficient. Or something similar. Just google it. Then take 20% more as a light enthusiast and compare it with your windows...
Since you are "free" planning (without prefabricated house specifications), try a new design with our tips so you can stay below the 500,000 euro limit. Compact, simple, and yet unique. Balconies, roof terraces, and conservatories, garages under living space drive your construction costs up and add very little living value. On the contrary: they cause follow-up costs.
I'll just throw in one or two numbers here (sorry if I'm off... I also ask for corrections from others :cool
