Your favorite house?
I think that's cool and not comparable to the overhang in this thread

Oh man, the penny has dropped...That certainly explains a lot :-P

And I was still wondering why they build so weirdly in East Erzgebirge

Is it allowed to quote Sido here?:

My city, my district, my neighborhood, my area
My street, my home, my block, my block
Yeah, ah
Yeah you in your single-family house are laughing at me...

But seriously...is the design really by an architect? I don’t mean to sound ridiculous. Design can be debated. But some things (setback areas etc.) just don’t work like that...that’s really shocking for an architect’s design.

If it’s really supposed to be the plot, I would at least consider changing the architect...

No..., just very clever on the slope.
But I just like gable roofs with a twist.
My favorites back then were:
** Baurmann Dürr - Kirchfeld House (with the corner windows offset in the levels)
** Bub Architects - Blankenese House

We actually realized them in 2017 - significantly slimmed down, varied, combined, and adapted to our needs, clad in bricks, etc. - then indeed carried out.

Try searching on Google for the following "Haus (kfw55) an den obstgärten".

The roof shape was chosen there because the development plan also did not allow a flat roof.

Very fine taste

But it is also a relatively disadvantageous tip. For the person standing directly at the house, probably a satisfaction if you’re into cubes. Still: when you drive home from the street (or pass by as a third party), something doesn’t fit there. My opinion.
