The extension to 440 cm is not needed in the kitchen. Much more important for the kitchen is to think about access, shaft due to the WC in the attic, and the general layout. Because the current approach is a somewhat fragmented kitchen with awkward workflows.

For the basement stairs, we will probably implement the closing of a stair tread on the right staircase run, which has no disadvantages and offers a few more possibilities for an inviting access to the living room (although you then have to be a bit careful with the fireplace).
If you do that from the ground floor to the upper floor, the offset of the kitchen wall brings some disadvantages primarily for the upper floor/attic (including the open space) – a more open kitchen is of course always better, but I also think that with the 414, we already have enough.

I looked at it a bit more closely. The shift would only make sense if the wall is shifted on all floors, since the bay window would then also be 26cm smaller. However, I see a problem in the attic with the standing height in front of the sinks. Presumably, as already says, the gain in the kitchen is negligible.

Thanks again for all the hints, we are slowly approaching the home stretch. (Results will of course be shared then)

Quick question: What is the maximum width for a two-leaf window with a sill? We wanted to give the south dormer in the attic bedroom a somewhat wider window. According to the planning side, 2m is already pretty much the maximum for two-leaf windows. Surely a bit more is possible, right? Maybe someone can speak from experience? ( ;) )

Otherwise, the placement of the heat pump is still an ongoing issue, on the garage it’s apparently critical – so we are considering switching to an indoor installation.

Because of the wide window, you should ask your window installer. Your architect should also know that.

I have 2m myself, which works without any problems.

Absolutely not, relatively yes. I have two and a half meters, but not in a dormer. I don’t see an absolute width in the drawing, but the relative width already seems to be more than 2H (so with symmetrical wings more than 1H each) to me. But you can add a third hinge like on a front door – then just only turn, no tilt.
