Hello,

At the end of 2017, I bought a METOD kitchen without a dishwasher and simply installed my old Siemens under-counter dishwasher. This was done with a raised plinth so that it fits flush under the countertop at the top. I closed the gap at the bottom with a stainless steel panel.

In wise foresight, I had ordered front panels matching the kitchen for retrofitting a fully integrated dishwasher right away.

Now I have bought a new fully integrated dishwasher (SX736X19NE, that is XXL and with Vario hinge) and am faced with the problem that I cannot mount the three-part furniture front on the dishwasher.

These are Ringhult fronts (20/20/40) with BLANKET handles. The fronts are supposed to be connected with VÅGLIG, which leads to several problems:

1. VÅGLIG sits exactly where the mounting brackets for installation on the dishwasher are supposed to go.
Now, VÅGLIG could be drilled through and the mounting parts for hooking onto the dishwasher door could still be installed there.

2. VÅGLIG is so thick that the opening geometry no longer fits, and the front hits the plinth or dishwasher housing at the bottom.

3. Since the BLANKET handles are attached on the rear side of the front, VÅGLIG cannot lie flush on the back of the fronts.
(This could be remedied by cutting out a piece from each BLANKET handle.)

Are there any experience-based solutions on how to solve this issue most elegantly?

Ikea’s kitchen planning had designed and sold the three-part RINGHULT front in conjunction with 3x BLANKET handles for a Diskad dishwasher. But even with this device, problem no. 3 would still exist, as VÅGLIG and BLANKET obstruct each other.

Well then, first a monologue:

Apparently, Ikea has a DISKAD connecting rail (804.269.33) in addition to VÅGLIG, on which at least the original Siemens mounts for the front fit. The problem with the BLANKET handles remains, which I will modify with cutouts for the connecting rail after receiving the aforementioned DISKAD rail, so that the gap between the furniture front and the dishwasher door is not too large.

As soon as the DISKAD rail is here, I will document the whole thing with photos.

Further monologue:

The bad news:
Thanks to further frustration, there are unfortunately no photos of the installation process. In the end, one photo of the finished installation. On the far left is the dishwasher.

The good news:
The SIEMENS SX736X19NE is now installed and has three RINGHULT fronts with three BLANKET handles. DISKAD helped, albeit with frustration potential.

Report:
- DISKAD fits directly onto the holes in the RINGHULT fronts
- The mounts for the fronts supplied with the SX736X19NE fit into the threaded holes in DISKAD
- However, the holes in DISKAD are about 4-6 mm off course, so I had to rework the holes in the DISKAD rail into elongated holes. Otherwise, the mounting brackets do not fit into the intended mounts on the dishwasher door
- The upper mount on DISKAD for the upper sliding pieces fits in height
- The lower mount on DISKAD for the mounting brackets, which are hooked into the Vario hinge, is installed about 30 mm too high
The latter could only be solved by re-drilling DISKAD using the template supplied with the SX736X19NE. No threads can be cut into DISKAD at this point because the holes run through two beads. Appropriate screws are required here that go through DISKAD and into the RINGHULT front. If necessary, this can be optimized with special dowels if the screws pull out.
- Where DISKAD crosses the BLANKET handles, a recess must be cut out of BLANKET, which is not visible from the outside.

To make it complete, the following addition:

As already feared in post #3, the screws for the lower mounting brackets (U-hooks), which go through the DISKAD rail into the furniture front, have been torn out of the wood . That was more or less clear, as the screws were quite short and the cross-section was also small.

After disassembly, I drilled the torn screw holes in the furniture front to 8mm and screwed in so-called [B]RAMPA sleeves Type B
. Now I was able to use the original fine-thread screws supplied with the SIEMENS device again.

Since then, it holds absolutely securely.
