I see it the same way as you. A few houses down, a neighbor was the only one on the street who piled up a huge embankment. At the bottom, two staggered rows of huge natural stone blocks and on top still quite steeply graded. He loses about 6-7 meters of usable land lengthwise. At 20m width and at least €350/sqm, that’s already €50k that he paid and will never see. Plus these massive terrain interventions. All the other approximately 20 houses on the street have built with (residential) basements and gardens below and need at most a 0.5m wall or have gently sloping terrain.
