Separate the kitchen with two sliding doors?

We also have a sliding door in the kitchen and have closed it maybe 3 times in 7 years. They are not airtight at all and help little against noise and smells. Good dishwashers nowadays are quiet. I would leave out the sliding door and spend a bit more on the extractor fan. Your living room is around the corner anyway, so you don’t look directly into the kitchen. I’m not a fan of open kitchen-living-dining rooms, but in your case it’s well arranged, so I would leave everything open.

Maybe you should upload the entire EG-Plan so that one can also get an idea of the surroundings. We once had two kitchen sliding doors and they were always open, so I would only take one if it was absolutely necessary. Maybe there is also the option to leave them out for now and only retrofit them if absolutely needed.

I think that is the point.
Personally, I don't like "corridor solutions," meaning when the kitchen and dining/living areas are one room. However, if the kitchen, as in this case (like with us), is around the corner, then the open kitchen is less "disturbing" and the advantages prevail.

I personally don't like "corner solutions." They are pointless and a waste of space, especially here. Pictures say more than a thousand words. Apart from that, I find the sliding door solution expensive, but somehow cool. Something different!

In this case, you are actually right because the corner is too large. Otherwise, in my opinion, a corner solution is always an optimal "compromise" between closed and completely open (corridor) solutions.

Do you have any pictures of your sliding door solutions? We want to do it the same way for the reasons mentioned.
