Save gas - optimize control?

Dear Steffi, great that you now have more solar heat!

Oh, and our dishwasher is currently also running on solar hot water. The standby circuit that is now in operation for us does not allow any gas consumption. For me it’s a partly manual control, because the pumps can still start automatically but not the gas. We don’t have any error messages. I could trigger a one-time gas load if I found it necessary.

I’m not sure yet if I’ll call Wolf customer service. The email sounded strongly like liability avoidance. I’m interested in creative intelligent troubleshooting in agreement on how much we can do without. We can’t decide ourselves how customer service should do it.

Cool :)

While we are still searching for the standby mode, we check the consumption every day. So far, everything apparently is being used from solar.
We also have the one-time full-load button for emergencies, so everything is fine. By the way, we have turned off our controlled residential ventilation. The quietness in the house is really great. How quickly you get used to a humming. I have to add that we discovered that one of our pipes had fallen off… and was still working like that  That’s what happens when you turn a small freezer room into a storage room. You are out of control :p

What exactly are you using so much gas for in the summer that everyone wants to turn it off at the moment? If it’s about every 2€/month, there are probably quite different problems that need to be solved first.

P.S. Another piece of wisdom says "Who optimizes, freezes" ;)

Does everyone want to turn it off? I think it's an individual decision. No one is obliged to save. Personally, I see it differently. We try to take it sportingly and see how long this non-gas consumption can last. I see no reason not to try it. You?

Feels like yes... It wasn’t an accusation or distortion or whatever else is going on everywhere. Everyone should do whatever they feel like. ;)
I just wanted to understand what one hopes to achieve when doing it in the middle of summer, when you need gas at most once a week for legionella.

I have already looked myself where I could save some gas. For me, it is the controlled residential ventilation.

Well, the controlled residential ventilation does not consume gas, only electricity. I think about 80% of owner-occupiers don’t care at all about restricting themselves and/or monitoring. The remaining 20% are now dealing with their technology, insofar as they have not already done so before. Even those mentioned 1 degree, which should bring 6% savings, did not interest those who could afford it. And I have to be honest: comfort was affordable for me. But now it’s also about small steps for solidarity savings. For me, this has nothing to do with pleasure, as you put it. That’s why I’m participating!
