Normally yes but mine has a water heating coil, ergo gas ;) Good attitude :)

Dear Dogma, our control system is comfort-oriented and prioritizes gas. It is not programmed for leaner times. Whether one wants to wait until it already gets tight is probably individual. I like to have something in the drawer, and for that I have to start thinking in time; I can’t just pull it out of thin air. I definitely see myself as sharing the responsibility for how to get through more difficult times. If I were a gas supplier, I would dilute the gas (e.g., with oxygen) next winter so that even an individual who simply opens the valve wide would be limited. I would also prioritize industry higher. Professionally, I see and hear three things: The news concerning energy supply for the coming winters and the intentions and advice of the lower authorities is... almost apocalyptic. I will not elaborate on that! The owners of simpler houses want to share and save in my meetings. Those in the very fancy houses mostly tell me they don’t care, they’ll pay. Or if they are elderly, they say it will fully endure them. I can still get heating engineers or specialists out to the properties for optimizations if they like me, otherwise not. Of course, I want the optimizations before the heating period. In 5-6 weeks the first will start heating. Best regards Gabriele

Yes, and we also started heating, namely with the super Swedish stove. Disappointing. First, the craftsman forgot the outside air supply, which he will somehow fiddle in this October. I deliberately left the new chimney bare. But during the first burn, the stove filled the house with smoke unless it was running at full throttle. We looked into it. The chimney needs to be higher. He can do that right away when he conjures up the outside air supply. The executing company has an excellent reputation, we did not save... which would at least be possible with Swabians. Yesterday, the gas price doubled, as I know all too well, this is not the end of the line but the beginning. I am curious whether the calculated 5 meters of hardwood will really be enough. Calculated 9000 kWh, gas including hot water was under 11000 kWh. The stove is not water-bearing.
