Hello,

That is not true. Even the latest generation of centralized controlled residential ventilation "acts up" when a window is opened and the system runs simultaneously. These systems were not designed for that.

What do you mean by that?

Thanks to controlled residential ventilation, do you have the same temperatures in the attic or loft as in the ground floor?

Large-leaved plants help against that.

A controlled residential ventilation system is always good, especially when multiple airing of the rooms during the first two years after moving into a single-family house is not ensured. Whether it is designed centrally or decentrally is a matter of taste as well as dependent on the available budget. Whether the heat recovery is as significant as loudly praised by the industry or if it rather serves the calculation of the KfW remains to be seen.

A controlled residential ventilation system will not pay for itself, but it provides its owner with a considerable piece of quality of life. And that, in my opinion, is worth quite a lot.

Rhenish regards

1. If the system does not have dynamic pressure control (which most of them do not), then nothing "goes crazy" when the windows are open... the system is fixed to an amount of 50, 150, or 300 cbm and pulls that out or brings it back in... the system absolutely does not care where the air comes from, whether from the open window or the closed room.

2. By that I mean that the system keeps the heat inside the house and additional heat sources like the sun or a fireplace or or or not only warm up one room but the heat is carried through the whole house... even if only slightly.

3. Yes, precisely, the controlled residential ventilation keeps my house "at temperature," meaning it does not get as warm throughout the whole house as in houses without controlled residential ventilation.

4. Well, plants only help to a limited extent...

Haven't read the whole post now, but I just came back from vacation. New construction of a "Zentrierten Parks" Bostalsee. No idea if these things have to be built according to the energy saving ordinance. They were certainly airtight. The thing didn't have a controlled residential ventilation system and immediately we had massive problems with fogged windows again. So that's all I need as an argument for a controlled residential ventilation system.

We are very glad that we planned a controlled residential ventilation system (Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung). Besides the advantages of no longer having to worry about mold and not needing to constantly ventilate, the air quality is also really great. When we had the ventilation system off for 2 days due to technical reasons, we only then realized how quickly the air deteriorates.

However, I can recommend planning early on where the ductwork will go and how the setup of the ventilation system, silencer, and distributor will be designed, so that ugly boxed-in areas do not end up in undesirable places in the living area or silencers are not installed too short because the arrangement of components in the utility room no longer allows it.

We have a central controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery from Helios. We were just able to avoid large-scale ugly boxed-in areas, but the silencer is probably a bit too short (42 cm in length), in any case the noise level is not entirely satisfactory. Possibly, additional internal pipe silencers should now be installed in the individual rooms.

Why do you turn it off during the day? I always have mine on, the temperature controller is set to 22 degrees, and with air that's too warm, the system cools automatically.

How much does the installation of a controlled residential ventilation system cost? I was once given a ballpark figure of 10,000 euros. Is that realistic?
