Hello Hitokiri, the "prefabricated house expert" is indeed, as KingSong correctly pointed out, not a genuine expert but a salesperson. He sells his services and at the same time pockets commissions from the companies he recommends. (prefabricated house companies and prefabricated basement companies). Those seeking serious and independent advice, offer and contract reviews, and expert construction supervision should turn to the homebuilder protection associations (Bauherren-Schutzbund or Verband privater Bauherren) or the consumer centers. Especially the specialized protection associations offer their services for little money and guaranteed independently.

... as I have already stated in my post see #28

explained, in my opinion, one is quite well advised with this "expert." His website contains a lot of content that impresses a single-family home builder – who is usually a layperson – to a quite respectable degree. If the package also contains an "affiliate" aspect that enables this educational contribution for readers free of charge, I find nothing reprehensible about it. It seems to me a significant difference whether an expert has a tendency and merely emphasizes certain advantages, or whether he – which I did not read there – would preach hatred or misinform against other construction methods. If his website helps the potential builder "click through" to a house provider, the "expert" has provided a lead generation service for the house provider. You cannot operate a website of this quality for a simple "thank you." That a house provider honors this is not necessarily corrupting – it can be organized (and made transparent to the interested party how this happens). I have rarely seen so much "value added" and so little "funnel" on such a website – respect. In my view, consumer centers are more the right address for the target group that feels well advised with a broadband but narrow expertise à la ZDF "WISO" – not me.

Are there any news/experiences here? Has anyone specifically booked a service and can report?

I have so far booked one service (review of the construction performance specification and the contract) and am very satisfied. Furthermore, I am of the opinion that he, with his good connections in the industry, could possibly take on a kind of mediator function or similar if there should ever be a slight atmospheric disturbance, or one could seek advice and perhaps support from him (for a fee, of course). His fee is acceptable to me. An additional "court-proof" expert witness can still be commissioned if necessary.

Thank you for your response. Since our construction project has been dragging on and getting postponed for several years, I have been following the Fertighausexperten for some time and have always found their input to be very reasonable and beneficial. The service you booked is something I want to "wish for my birthday." We have appointments with 5 turnkey providers in the coming weeks (3x solid construction, 2x timber frame). I am now mainly wondering about two things: 1. Can they evaluate solid construction just as well as timber frame construction? 2. How open-ended is the assessment, as I have the impression that they specialize in timber frame construction.
