Positioning of the house on a small plot (again)

I’m not too worried about that. There are 3 neighbors who take their bins back and forth now and then. That causes manageable noise, won’t attract much vermin, and the stench won’t be noticeable (source: former cul-de-sac resident). If the space didn’t exist, they would simply put them by the roadside (as in almost every cul-de-sac). If there were 8 households, or if it was the collection point for the neighborhood, it would bother me a bit. But as it is?

It only bothers me because at least 25sqm of it is completely useless and I could use the space more effectively. With small plots, 25-30sqm really makes a difference.

Sorry, this is not a general garbage bin area. It doesn't matter what we would buy – the OP knew about it. Ahem, I have to say that I find it somewhat presumptuous when someone thinks that something they are not involved with or see disadvantages in is superfluous. The development plan clearly states what this area is reserved for. You think you can look farther ahead at how many more houses are entitled to garbage bin spaces. Perhaps the city thinks a bit further than the current state, or maybe there is a minimum size for such planned areas. Better too big than too small. The area is fixed, and it was fixed. Incidentally, the superfluous is regulated: Look here: Look here: Look here: And if that is not enough for you, then take a closer look at the waste disposal statute of the city of Ahlen. Your example in #25, where you think that here is deceptive. Use a scale: I see at least 6 meters in width there. The hedge alone is roughly about one meter wide. If the reserved garbage area is fenced with a hedge, you can easily subtract about 15sqm of space. By the way, the textual stipulations, which you have not posted here, state that garages may only be built within the building window. Therefore, you basically win nothing except a small leftover strip of land, which you can do little with, exactly what you are trying to oppose.

You don't have to panic and restrict your profile right away. The building land wasn't even listed there because you don't want to build (according to the profile information). No one will take your property away from you or fill the garbage there with rubbish.

Thank you for your effort. The leftover corner is at least nicer to look at than an empty paved area. Let's just assume the status quo will remain: if I build a narrow carport south of the waste area and put a narrow house under it (not along the street), I am left with six to seven meters of "south garden" – minus the terrace and a little planting, I end up with a lawn strip of three meters. I wonder whether giving up a carport, a parking space in the front yard area (a certain percentage may be sealed), and a bicycle shed elsewhere might not be more sensible in order to at least get a small feeling of having a garden. Or else an orientation of the house towards the west-south garden.

Isn't there a contradiction in your thinking?

I consider it the worst choice to give up essentials.

You should focus more on your property than on the garbage area.

As you wish.

Here are your possible sight lines with a house oriented to the south.

The problem is the garbage truck, which pulls in all the neighborhood's trash right in front of your house. Especially when it comes as early as 6:00 a.m.
