Our pool is an infinity pool and made of stainless steel. Stainless steel pools are among the "spearheads," but unfortunately also the most expensive. For the pool size you are considering, you are already in the six-figure range with stainless steel.... We have expanded the technology quite far. You will not reach this level with your budget. The technology alone exceeds your 20k already.

You need to be clear about what kind of pool you want (skimmer, flat skimmer, overflow, infinity...), then the question of sealing. I would recommend foil. You need a sand filter system in the dimension 800mm + pump + control, etc.

Very roughly:
- Hole
- Base slab
- Walls
- Piping (+fresh water, wastewater, heating...)
- Floor drains
- Inlet nozzles
- (Flat) skimmer
- Sealing (foil)
- Sand filter
- Pump
- Multi-way valve (also available for automatic backwashing)
- Pump or pool control
- Dosing system
- Measuring system
- Automatic refilling
- Covering (cheap foil to lay over or floating roller cover, as in-ground up to movable glass cover)
- Heating system (solar, heat pump, house heating system...)

As you can see, there is an incredible range. You can save on the dosing and measuring systems and do everything manually at first. It can also be retrofitted later. I would recommend you go for a saltwater electrolysis system.

Sounds good. I’m also planning something like that right now. Is there a photo of your pool? I’d like to get an idea of how you secured it.

, you mean around the spa? We chose the cheapest option, but it depends on what the authorities require. They were there twice until I got the confirmation that it’s okay.

Behind the shed there is another fence. We had to seal the area between the fence and the ground towards the plants, although no child can dig through there. On the side where the air conditioner is, we also had to cover the framework, etc.

The nicest is with glass, but very expensive (the mounts).

We installed a kind of lift thing on the covers at both ends, also expensive.

Looks great! Really top. But such a huge effort? How likely is it that kids get there? Is it open?

Looks good. But it is an "Austellpool". This was about a built-in version with the corresponding technology. Also, heating is rather not an issue in many parts of Australia. In Germany, the regulations regarding safety are not quite as extreme. A flush-mounted cover that is walkable already solves the problem. When the pool is open, children must never be left unattended anyway...
