I am amazed by two things: first, the long planning duration and second, that I apparently hadn’t asked yet in this thread what material is being used here. On the one hand, I see exterior walls in classic solid construction caliber 365, but on the other hand, then unusual interior wall thicknesses and dimensions that break the pattern.
When planning the floor plan, I get the impression of being trapped, in love with the visualization of a design that hasn’t succeeded yet, but whose “spirit” is somehow supposed to be preserved, and for this purpose a space allocation Tetris is being played. This is a typical phenomenon in draughtsman-based planning. Presumably, the supposedly higher fee investment in a freelance architect would have already paid off twice by avoiding the interim construction cost increases.
I recommend a relaunch and fresh start with professional planning methodology. A patchpatchpatch as the exact opposite of clean code leads to a dramatically increased likelihood of construction botch due to complex connection details at every corner. And in the further distillation of the design on the wrong path and with rising desperation pressure, the wine is more likely to turn into vinegar than the power of prayers breaking the Gordian knot.
Hello ant11! What almost philosophical sentences. Mega. Yes, you are a bit right—at least you recognized my state of mind :) So it will be a timber frame house, with wood fiber insulation. The long planning duration results from not wanting to start during Corona, and then nothing was available afterward, and then the war came and then goodbye KFW program :)
oh yes and in my job there was hell going on the last 2 years, it’s true that I thought we would just build when things got back to normal.
The house builder is a local medium-sized provider and fits well. Because of the issue with the transformer house, we have a Gordian knot between
where to put the garage, how much garden is left, and where it then makes sense to slide the kitchen. Surely we are not in an easy situation here.
So ideas are always welcome :) The professional architect thing I can agree with, which is no problem because of cost or anything, but we simply had the local provider in mind. He does solid work, but I’m still missing a bit of flair or something where I say yeah cool. The room Tetris doesn’t get any better because of that either ;)
That’s why I’m open to all impulses :)
