Maybe a silly question. The green circle drawn in front of your driveway is a tree, right? Is it already there or do you have to plant it? It does quite hinder you when entering and leaving the garage. I would do a kitchen window to the garage despite the limited view. Light still comes in there. And then cover the garage wall with something green. I personally like the balcony on the upper floor. We have a big garden, but the balcony as an alternative option was used again and again. When my boys played in the garden with many friends, I could retreat, later it was often a reading spot for my older children when the hustle and bustle on the trampoline in the garden got too much. Also not bad as partial shading. These are just our experiences.

Yes, I wouldn’t want that either. But just looking at the sketch, I wouldn’t be able to park the boxes in and out there regularly. Above all, it would annoy me a lot. That’s why the suggestion with the carport, hoping that it doesn’t have to comply with the distances (as is usually the case).

Isn’t the transformer house only in the north? The west side would be much better suited for the kitchen window than looking at the garage twice. Or do you prefer to have the nice view for the study?

: Yes, the green circle is a tree, there is a planting requirement. We need to see how we can implement that. We are not exactly thrilled about having to rotate the garages. Alternatively, we would have to shift 1.50 m further south and make the garden smaller. I had the idea of an angled garage, but then there would be no view from the kitchen window anymore.

: Kitchen in the west was an idea, but the downside is that while we have a nice view, no sun comes in and then with the living room in the south, we have a rotated arrangement. The idea was a dining area in the southeast (morning sun), living area in the southwest (evening sun).

I want floor-to-ceiling windows in the kitchen. The 3-D simulation with my neighbor’s garage shows that depending on the time of year, from about 8:30 a.m. the sun can fall directly into the kitchen, so you do get light in, we could also give up some of our west zone and set the house back 3.50 m or even 4.00 m.

A completely different idea was to make the driveway between the transformer station and the house, the distance to the house is about 3.00 m, then you would drive straight into the rotated garage. Garages are allowed in the development plan on the boundary, i.e. no distance to neighbors and 0.50 m to public areas necessary.

Ok

Ok, I wouldn’t have thought that.

Garages or carports?

Garage. According to the state building code in Baden Württemberg, a 9.00m garage may be built on the boundary up to a wall height of 3.00m.

Yes, but to get back to the point, usually carports do not have to maintain the 5m distance from the street. That would mean that you can drive straight in with the car and the box can stay at most in the north. However, this is different in every municipality and the question was how it is with you and whether this would not be the better option, rather than making the curve which in my opinion is impossible?
