Good morning,
While we would have no problem finding an affordable brand when choosing a car manufacturer, we face a confusing market environment with the offers from prefabricated house providers, whose distinguishing features are not clear to us (what is the Porsche, what is the Skoda, what is the Lada among the prefabricated/solid house providers?)
So far, the picture you describe is okay. Beyond that, you *cannot* compare a car with a new build; whether prefab or solid house.
Is anyone here able to clarify this? So far, we have price offers beyond 300,000 euros (excluding additional construction costs) in prospect from providers like Haacke or Fingerhaus (turnkey).
For the aforementioned reputable providers in the prefabricated house segment, those are quite realistic prices. They produce the building envelope on assembly lines, which are not exactly cheap to build and also require ongoing maintenance; all of that has its price. Additionally, a prefabricated house wall is more complex to produce than having a mason lay a brick according to a guideline.
Are there reputable providers who are cheaper?
It’s actually the other way around. Do you want to have a permanently value-stable property built or rather a prefab house that, when you sell it (it is never certain where life will take you), brings tears to your eyes when looking at the proceeds?
Building a prefabricated house is always more expensive than a conventionally constructed single-family house. But – even in Lower Saxony there are quite a few reputable solid house providers operating. Talk to 2 to 3 of them and have a non-binding offer prepared.
Rhenish regards
