Hello,

we are about to purchase our first Ikea kitchen.

Some info about the plan:
To the front, the kitchen is open to the living-dining room. The ceiling height is 2.65 m. Since we want to use this well, we have 100 cm high wall cabinets and a total height of 248 cm.
To the left of the tall built-in oven is the fridge-freezer. The sink will be under the window.
We want a tall built-in dishwasher, which should stand to the right of the window on the 40 cm high base cabinet.
The 40 cm wide wall cabinet to the left of the window is about 5-10 cm too wide and therefore extends somewhat over the window, which of course is not possible. Unfortunately, Ikea does not have, for example, 30 cm wide wall cabinets. Could I shorten the 40 cm wall cabinet by 5-10 cm? Is that reasonably doable?
Above the window, at the same height as the top edge of the wall cabinets, a board (worktop?) should be installed, into which 2-4 LED lights are integrated, as lighting over the sink (not included in the plan).

Thanks to the IKEA expert and schnecki for their reports on the tall built-in dishwasher.

When we have finished the planning, how should we proceed? Go to the next Ikea store (for us Wallau), have the planning checked, and buy/order? What is the cheapest option?

I want to assemble the kitchen myself.

The electrical appliances, except possibly for the fridge-freezer, should not be from Ikea.

Regards
Bernhard

Just as an idea, because shrinking a cabinet seems a bit too fiddly for laymen: stack two of these shelves on top of each other to make an open shelf to the left of the sink.

There are several colors. And put a nice accessory on top in the 20 cm height gap.

Or one like this:

PS: I also have the 100 cm tall tall cabinets. I added a third shelf to some of them, there’s so much space inside. And I always have a nice little stool standing by when I need to reach a bit higher. ;)

Hello Regarding the wardrobe in front of the window: You could mount an 80 cm wardrobe to the left of the window, remove the corner wardrobe and instead mount a 40 cm wardrobe. For this, I shifted the entire top row slightly to the left. Best regards Section chief

Hello,
shortening the cabinet carcass in width is not a big problem, but the front will not look nice. With a drawer front with the cut edge facing down, it might still be acceptable, but with a door it will be too noticeable.
It is also not bad to have some space next to the window. Imagine, for example, that in a few years curtains or something similar might be installed.

How does the window open? Will the faucet be in the way?

Transporting it yourself is cheaper than delivery. You don’t have to be home at a specific time and you cannot be rescheduled. You have to calculate how much you save if you need to rent a vehicle and consider whether you can and want to carry the large parts with a helper.
If you use the [Familykarte], your own transport is also insured. From this perspective, it makes no difference.

Thanks to everyone! :)

We are still thinking about how to do it to the left of the window. Shortening is certainly not possible, as the IKEA expert writes.

The window has two sashes that open in the middle, and the fittings do not obstruct.

I have another question about the purchase:

As far as I know, you can buy/order online or in an IKEA store.
Are the prices different, and if so, by how much approximately?

What are the delivery times online and at the IKEA store for fronts, for example Metod-Haganäs or Veddinge?
