Hello,
we are about to purchase our first Ikea kitchen.
Some info about the plan:
To the front, the kitchen is open to the living-dining room. The ceiling height is 2.65 m. Since we want to use this well, we have 100 cm high wall cabinets and a total height of 248 cm.
To the left of the tall built-in oven is the fridge-freezer. The sink will be under the window.
We want a tall built-in dishwasher, which should stand to the right of the window on the 40 cm high base cabinet.
The 40 cm wide wall cabinet to the left of the window is about 5-10 cm too wide and therefore extends somewhat over the window, which of course is not possible. Unfortunately, Ikea does not have, for example, 30 cm wide wall cabinets. Could I shorten the 40 cm wall cabinet by 5-10 cm? Is that reasonably doable?
Above the window, at the same height as the top edge of the wall cabinets, a board (worktop?) should be installed, into which 2-4 LED lights are integrated, as lighting over the sink (not included in the plan).
Thanks to the IKEA expert and schnecki for their reports on the tall built-in dishwasher.
When we have finished the planning, how should we proceed? Go to the next Ikea store (for us Wallau), have the planning checked, and buy/order? What is the cheapest option?
I want to assemble the kitchen myself.
The electrical appliances, except possibly for the fridge-freezer, should not be from Ikea.
Regards
Bernhard
