Hello,

That has been available since last year, and the prices for lithium-ion battery storage systems are currently falling.

So if you, for example, install an air-to-water heat pump and have planned for the photovoltaic system (about €650.00), this should be an investment worth considering for you in the coming months. Especially since there is a subsidy for the storage system (30% on storage technology) from the KfW.

Best regards from the Rhineland

One must not omit that 20% - 30% of the energy is lost in the storage (storage losses). That would simply be too much for me, no matter how you look at it. Increasing self-consumption, yes, but "throwing away" a large part of the energy, no. That still needs to become more efficient. It actually bothers me already with electric vehicles, but there it is only about 2-3 kWh per charge (consumption approx. 8 kWh/100 km), which is still tolerable.

Hello,

I’m reluctant to be a smart aleck; for lithium-ion batteries, the storage losses are between 10-20%. The lower the current density, i.e., the slower the charging and discharging of the cell, the more efficient the battery is.

Rhenish greetings

That is probably correct – but I prefer to use free capital for extraordinary repayments – that's my personal view. I calmly postpone the topic of photovoltaic with storage (which in my opinion necessarily belongs with a heat pump and as high a self-consumption as possible) into the future. There is also a conduit to the garage, the attic, and a free meter slot available...

A brief summary of our experience with self-consumption. We have been operating our 7,x kWp system (with strict 70% regulation) for almost half a year. As of today, we have a self-consumption rate of 1/3. I don’t think that’s bad at all, especially since the heating period (geothermal heat pump) is just beginning and we can consume even more electricity ourselves during the day than before. If you adjust your lifestyle habits a little (e.g., only use the washing machine/dryer/dishwasher during the day) and the home technology fits accordingly, such a system pays off quite well. I have calculated cautiously and come to a payback period of about 12 years with full financing of the system.

What are the experiences regarding "electromagnetic fields," for example at the head of the bed when the system is located in the bedroom or children's room? It was just a thought of mine. A friend of mine has had sleep problems ever since they installed such a system (it might also be because she is unsure whether it is worth it or from when on). We are currently considering the whole thing as well, but as an alternative to solar thermal energy (we have an indoor air/water heat pump to which solar thermal energy could be connected).
