If their offers are as interesting as those of the energy suppliers, I don't believe that at all. Especially since the market doesn’t have to get going at all; it has been booming for years. The expansion rates worldwide have been consistently high, new factories are opening, and the module price is continuously falling.

Do you know anything about the pricing?

Edit:
"A fully installed, turnkey photovoltaic system is supposed to cost from 4730 euros including VAT" for 2.2 kWp with polycrystalline modules.
That is 1806€ net per kWp. Anyone who buys that must be crazy.
But it seems that larger systems are more attractive in terms of price.

I signed an offer 6 months ago for an 8.82 kWp system. 1160€/kWp. IBC modules 315W Mono Black. Including installation.

After deducting discount and net, it is less than 99xx€ for the system. Anyone who signs at Ikea must be crazy.

It is almost the only retrofit option for new buildings and thus not attractive at the beginning. Investing in something that only pays off after more than 10 years is at least courageous.

I see photovoltaics very critically.

Turn the argument around: "The photovoltaic system is the only thing on the whole house that actually pays off!"

In addition, retrofitting is generally more expensive because you have to bring in, set up, and take down scaffolding for a retrofit. You know what that costs! If you decide on photovoltaics, then from an installation cost perspective it is always best to do it at the beginning, right after the roof covering.

It is fair to look at photovoltaics critically, since it is of course an expensive add-on and if something breaks, the ROI shifts. But your argument is not correct as it stands.

Assuming the 10 years, we are talking about a 10% return. The remuneration is guaranteed and fixed for 20 years. The insurance for the system is also cheap, and the warranties on the modules are 10 years and longer. The only thing that can happen is a broken inverter. Where else do you get such a high return with so little risk?

I can't think of anywhere where you get so much return for so little risk. I wish I had more roof space available.

You can even finance the costs of the photovoltaic system with a loan. Then the interest initially reduces the profit (and the taxes), and after repaying the loan you pocket the full profit. So you don't even need to have your own money liquid.
