We decided on continuous tiles on the ground floor because of the dog and toddler, as no good dividing line between parquet and tiles could be found. In hindsight, we regret not choosing ground and sealed screed. That would have been another alternative, but it does not save money.

Phew. I of course know that there are fans of it, just like e.g. Rick (!?) for whom it actually fits the overall project, but in a normal residential house I simply can't imagine it as "cozy and pleasant." At least I imagine sealed screed mainly for my garage and will execute it that way. That will do ;) Yes, I am aware that there are various "sealing qualities," but no, not for the living room :)

We have some kind of screed thing in the office and it mainly looks unfinished. Something was also done poorly regarding the sealing; after the glass walls were cleaned, the screed had streaks everywhere where the water had dripped on it. Just because it is concrete does not automatically make it a durable surface.

I think there is no clear dividing line in your floor plan between tiles and parquet that automatically suggests itself. Under the table, I would not change the flooring, but rather after the dining table if at all. Or in the kitchen area, just a very narrow strip of tiles, about half a meter or so.

The susceptibility of parquet in the kitchen area is greatly overestimated. Especially in the kitchen, you usually wipe up immediately after making a mess, so the risk of liquids standing for a long time is much lower. And oil is even good for the wood ;)

Or just a small corner with tiles for the dog? And then a somewhat unconventional transition similar to the picture.

That looks really funny. Although I would probably always stumble over it, my depth perception goes crazy.
