I myself have parquet in the kitchen and in front of the patio... Now one year has passed and you can't see anything (not even pathways or other differences on the surface). I had already thought about it, but the initial "Warning: take off your shoes" calls from me to visitors have stopped. In retrospect, all the "worries" about it were too much. But of course, no constantly running children, no animals, no roommates. So quite a different stress situation. Just wanted to contribute this for forming opinions ;)

I had sealed parquet in the previous apartment, now oiled. The oiled feels nicer on the feet and also looks better. But it really takes more work. I have various stains, especially in the kitchen. It bothers me occasionally, but for some others it would probably be too much.

Still, I would always choose oiled parquet again because it is so cozy. I don’t have falling cucumber jars or a dog. :D

Recently, a normal plate slipped from my hand. It made a loud noise but nothing broke on the wood. Not even the wood.

That is absolutely understandable and of course you are basically right. Nevertheless, in the end, this is a matter of personal consideration and taste. Of course, tiles are more practical and easier to clean, but before I lay tiles in the living/dining area, I accept the additional effort and possible "defects" over time. We (I/we) simply feel much more comfortable on a wooden floor than on tiles, despite 5 people in the household. At the same time, I have had only leather seats in the car for many years because they are much easier to clean and stay attractive much longer. Views and tastes are just that different :)

And it is about showing advantages and disadvantages in the forum. Because dividing the fields is only a disadvantage here. Nonetheless or still, you mean?! ;) Leather is basically to upholstery what tile is to flooring.

Exactly :)

Correct. I wanted to confess exactly this "contradiction" in my statements :)
The floor must be homely, is normally maintained, and may, if necessary, show "defects" over time. This then simply belongs to our habit.

I cannot stand "grubby and stained" seats in the car or sofa sets, therefore only leather for years = easier care ;)

Hehe… for me it's the opposite: I can replace upholstery, but not floors.

However, for me floors also have to be homely, but not just floors, the entire interior. And since a sofa on parquet without a rug doesn't look homely and fully furnished, and there are very nice "warm" tiles, you can well combine the practical with the homely. :D
