How many square meters do you think a children's room should have? You also have to consider that at some point you will have this space "left over".

We have 3 children's rooms each with 15sqm.

I no longer find anything under 12sqm acceptable.

Hello,

just a quick question:

The niche at the upper end of the bathroom in the sleeping area, is that supposed to be the shower?

If this is to scale, you will only be able to enter sideways and then have a wall directly in front of and directly behind you => I fear that this is not really feasible.

Regards,

Dirk

What also irritates me a bit about the planning of the house on the plot is that there isn't even space to park one additional car in front of the garage. Visitors .. or if you yourself just make a quick stop and similar.

@ Dirk: Yes, the niche should be a walk-in shower with tiled walls. The floor plan on the PC is not to scale. The shower is 90cm wide and the passageway as well.

: The space is available because the access leads over a wide strip of "Gemeindeteil". It is as wide as the parking bay. In addition, we wanted to pave from the utility room to the entrance. This way a car could also park crosswise.

Actually, I am not someone who necessarily advises starting from scratch when it comes to floor plans. But what you have cobbled together there, in my opinion, just doesn’t work at all. And actually, everything has already been said. In my opinion, you are also setting the priorities wrong.

Bathroom at the "chocolate cream corner" of the terrace so you can quickly go to the loo? Garage facing south so you don’t have to shovel so much snow? But at least a kids’ room facing north? What is more important to you? – For me, it would definitely be the well-being of my children. In case of doubt, I just have to shovel the snow three times a year more.

Regarding the children’s rooms, I agree with the others. They are nothing more than sleeping niches. Actually, they are “holes.” The square meters don’t matter that much. A well-laid-out 11 or 12 sqm room can certainly have a higher living value than a badly laid-out 15 or 18 sqm children’s room. But in your case, you get both. The size is simply too small and, on top of that, the rooms are badly laid out. At least one of the children can’t even sit properly at the desk, let alone have any hobbies that require any equipment (musical instruments, etc.). And apparently, friends of the children are not welcome either.

Most of what has been said about the walk-in closets has already been said. Take a look at these. A walk-in closet with 4! doors, you might as well forget it and put the wardrobe in the bedroom. Regarding the second children’s walk-in closet, I agree with Yvonne.

Please don’t try to sugarcoat the floor plan. If you want to build it like that, be my guest. But think carefully about what is important to you and your family and where you set your priorities. Why does it have to be a (wing) bungalow?
