Good evening,

this year we want to build our bungalow and the final floor plan is almost finished. Since I only discovered this forum a few days ago and floor plans apparently receive constructive criticism here, I would also like to hear some regarding our floor plan. Of course, there are also a few key data:

There are still three of us and a second child is planned. The garage will be roofed over and we will have about 60m² of additional space in the attic, all the lines for this will of course already be pre-installed. We know that the children's rooms are relatively small, but no closets etc. need to be included, and later one child can move upstairs and the two rooms will be combined. There are already changes not yet included here: The door between Hall 1 and Hall 2 moves to the right and the two dressing rooms will be merged into one large dressing room.
North is to the right on the picture.

Now I am curious about your opinions. Many thanks in advance.

Best regards, Martin

Measurements and room sizes would help to evaluate the floor plan.

Why is there this strange slanted wall in the dining and living room?
It only takes up unnecessary space in both rooms and also makes the passage past the dining table very narrow.

Hmm ... a few measurements would be good ... and, your door placement means .. if you want to get to the children's rooms, you go through the dressing room?

And, where should a staircase go to use the expansion reserve? What type of roof is planned? Where is north?

What is the office used for?

Hello, mh, sorry, but unfortunately I don't like it that much. Bungalow floor plans are always a bit tricky, as these "mouse paths" quickly emerge, which can more or less be seen here as well. For a proper assessment, m² are essential. However, the children's rooms are actually just sleeping niches. The 45° walls in the hallway are a mystery to me and the resulting slanted living room door is constantly in the way. I would first create space here with a straight wall and double doors leading into the living room. If the attic is to be converted, where is the staircase supposed to go? Is it really sensible to build 2 dressing room corridors and then tiny rooms, instead of planning 2 proper children's rooms right away? Basically, I wouldn't start building with this floor plan; it is simply still too underdeveloped.

I can join my predecessors.
What could be changed: remove the door between the utility room/kitchen, thereby gaining space for cabinets in the utility room and kitchen.
Remove the strange slants between living room and hallway.
At least one dressing room should go, preferably both. Dressing rooms are still rooms that take up space. With a bedroom and a built-in wardrobe, one is better off in a compact bungalow.
The second dressing room is absolutely superfluous and probably won’t make the children happy.
And: leave the south side free (if possible), don’t tack on a garage, plan south-facing windows -> makes small rooms bigger

Why would one still plan a parents’ bathroom in the chocolate cream corner of the terrace now? ops:

Please explain to us the idea behind the dressing rooms that you have there.

Regards Yvonne

Now I just read it in the opening post ... North is on the right? That will really be dark holes for the children.

I wouldn't call that the final floor plan.
