However, with such a large house, one must consider that the "childhood years" eventually end after about 25 years and then you are alone in the house again. As a couple, you probably won't want to live in nearly 300 sqm with numerous rooms, and the house will then be sold. Depending on the location, it may be difficult to resell such a large detached house.

Best regards
Sabine

That’s exactly the plan.

Take a look here – you can see the front door ->

We even took out the wall completely at one point, but my girlfriend insists on this wall and door. We’ll see if we’ll build it up again or just put up a drywall partition. In any case, we always have the option to remove it again.

Approved by whom? My better half maybe… why should I have a non-load-bearing wall inside my house approved?

Valid point – we have also thought about this intensively. Maybe we will continue to live there. Maybe we will convert it back into two apartments. Maybe we will sell everything. All possible options that are open.

I am installing a non-load-bearing wall and am supposed to apply for a building permit for it? That would be new to me. According to my structural engineer, that is not necessary. Of course, it is necessary for demolishing load-bearing walls.

If you still have time to think it over, then think carefully again about the [Kinderbad] and [WC] and especially take good measurements. The resulting shower looks more than super tight because of the necessary door, and both rooms are not great for moving around. I would urgently remove the wall there.
