You really should almost be hired – you already have some truly great ideas! Thank you and always bring your ideas. I think we won’t remove the wall, but the idea is great and we’ll still talk about it this evening!

oh – we only know such parties by hearsay ;-)

Regarding the barbecue parties etc., your arguments are completely understandable. We will first calmly think again about what and how we want to use the terrace – from that a solution might already emerge. It will probably really come down to us using the balcony in front of the kitchen. We definitely keep the option of a staircase to the garden open!

I understand your argumentation and way of thinking. In the medium and long term, the goal is of course to reduce this item (insulation, solar thermal systems, etc.). Our current calculation (including the mentioned incidental costs) fits our lifestyle. This is still primarily about the floor plan and not directly about the cost calculation.

Oh! First of all, thank you very much for your efforts and the draft. We will definitely take a closer look at it again and reconsider. I have to admit that unfortunately there will be 1-2 arguments against it (unknown to you because not mentioned), but these also need to be reconsidered. Thank you!

Great idea. Only the bedroom access would need to be rethought because otherwise you turn into a snail. But that’s certainly easy. In my opinion, the extra effort would really be worth it.

Yes, that was just a first thought. It certainly needs to be revised. But as a basic idea to move the parent area there and grant the children the terrace. They will surely use it more often than the parents do from the bedroom (especially if you’re a non-smoker *g*)

My suggestion, on the other hand, is to partition off a portion of the living space with an external entrance, where you could accommodate a lodger (or vacation guests) until the two eldest children will move in there.

That is certainly your prerogative. The reference to the finiteness of the household budget does not mean you "may not" do that. Other people buy a sports car or go out to eat every week. That also does not come cheap.

Yes and no, because: if you ask "is the right side free?" and I see a truck coming from the left with brake failure, then I’d rather give you the warning than stick strictly to your question.

11ant is not entirely wrong. Less income, higher expenses, and a long to-do list. Why not some extra money. If a permanent tenant is not an option, then maybe Airbnb. Only you can decide that.

I like Climbee‘s suggestion. Kahos may be missing one room, but the staircase is nicely integrated on the upper floor and the stairwell is eliminated.
