It's a matter of organization. If you make the patties at the same time as the bacon and onions, then it works without the (in my opinion useless) drawer. It only encourages you not to organize as well because you can keep everything warm.

and that’s exactly the nice thing about it. Why should I stress myself out while cooking? Especially with things that need to be prepared precisely but have completely different cooking times. I’m at home, not in the restaurant business, so from my point of view it’s okay to take it easy. Tight organization doesn’t belong in that for me; I can have that at work. I’m not saying it’s a must-have. It worked fine without it for years before. But if it makes my job easier, why not? Or do you also do without a GPS because it tempts you not to organize yourself the way you used to on long, unfamiliar trips? Do you rather sit down days before and study maps or stop along the way to look at the map where to go next? If yes, totally fine. That should still exist. But for me that would be useless. Convenience is nothing bad.

Alternatively, you could simply keep the bacon and onions warm on the warming rack on the grill... :p

Comparing a GPS, which saves millions of hours (private and commercial), with a warming drawer is very bold. You can rather compare the warming drawer with a Quooker. Things that can be replaced much cheaper and well by other things/behaviors.

Could one hold about 50 degrees under the lid on the grill? But that would be too little for the patties to cook through. And at about 100 degrees, the bacon gets mushy over time.
Doesn’t matter anyway (or Patty?).
It’s just that often things are talked down or declared useless. In the end, everyone decides for themselves.
And I fell for the argument "organization." I don’t want to work at home, but have fun, and if I find something that helps me with that, that’s great. Conclusion: I could get along perfectly fine without it, have for years, but I find it’s a great thing for me and I keep finding more areas of use.
But whatever, we don’t want to hijack the topic.

Edit: one last thing. I find the comparison to a GPS fitting. It’s simply something that makes my life easier. Just like a motorized lock on the front door or an electric garage door or a robotic mower or a cordless vacuum. All things that no one needs, but many things become easier.

Can you, or someone else, recommend one? My corded thing annoys me.. (but it sucks perfectly).
