No.

"The Energy Saving Ordinance 2014 offers a certain flexibility in the practical implementation of energy-efficient construction. In principle, only a target value, the maximum primary energy demand, is specified, but not the way in which this value can be achieved. Thus, planners and executors have the opportunity to weigh all measures against each other in order to meet the required target value. For example, a slightly poorer building insulation standard can be compensated by very good system technology, or in the case of a very good insulation concept, particularly elaborate system technology can be omitted."

No..nothing....just as the building expert already says, purely according to the Energy Saving Ordinance...

The Energy Saving Ordinance is still being quite kind to us at the moment.

The problem is that the Renewable Energies Heat Act applies to all new buildings with a usable area of more than 50 m². Those who build new must heat and/or cool their house proportionally with solar heat, wood pellets, wood chips, firewood, or environmental heat (heat pump), etc. etc.

Overview of the minimum shares of the use of renewable energies. Each building owner must only use renewable energies proportionally. These minimum shares depend on the energy source used:

[*]solar radiation energy 15% for gas condensing boilers

[*]solar collector area for single-family houses 0.04 m²
    [*]geothermal energy 50%
    [*]environmental heat 50%
    [*]solid biomass 50%
    [*]gaseous biomass 30%
    [*]liquid biomass (bio-oil) 50%

Hi Scarfy,

so it is indeed an obligation to install a renewable energy system?
What does 0.04 m2 practically mean? With 220 m2 roof area?

Thanks

yes unfortunately the Renewable Energy Heat Act wants us all to use renewable energy. The 0.04 m² refer for simplicity to the square meters of heated usable area. Specifically to the aperture area of the collector, that is the area where solar energy can be utilized, not the wide outer frame.
