As already mentioned here, you should definitely better describe your individual situation so that meaningful comments can be made about a suitable floor plan. Does your wife go to sea and is gone for 6 months, or are your 3 children going to move out within the next 6 months anyway because they are triplets? Is the office rather just for sticking a stamp on a letter, or is office work supposed to happen there???
Your utility room will be a space packed with technology; the two letters "HW" don’t really fit there. If all five of you were to live there longer, the shower situation would be too tight for my taste.
I am not a fan of storage space at all; for a while I had 6 moving boxes stored somewhere and was on the move. But if you live permanently and fixed somewhere, it will be a bit more, even if you are not a collector.
The architectural style promises generosity, but with 170 sqm for five people, it is already a less generous situation. I would have rather envisioned a pitched roof solution with usable space upstairs, be it for storage or a studio, simply a bit more flexibility.
50 sqm for kitchen/dining/living is not really much for five people; of course, it is sufficient, but given the considerable additional costs for the construction method, I would have allowed myself more space there. At the latest when you actually draw in the furniture mass, you will see it that way.
We are now also building a gable roof again because it was required or could be approved without any problems, albeit with some deviations.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, too much value is actually placed on the exterior, sometimes even with architects, whereas the inside is your house, where you live and want to feel comfortable. A fancy exterior can be created a thousand times over, with any roof shape.
I would leave out everything that makes it expensive on the outside and invest it inside: stairs, storage, living space, etc.
By the way, where is the staircase priced in?
