"Taste" is not a matter of principle for everyone when deciding whether to build monolithically or with ETICS; many builders see it pragmatically. I personally prefer monolithic construction (without claiming absolute truth) and professionally I generally advise weighting the contractor or the chemistry between builder and contractor higher than whether someone offers the absolute one and only best test-winning brick. WITHOUT EXCEPTION, ANY top product can be turned into rubbish in the hands of a botcher. EVERY brick – no matter if it sings best or dances best – has its specifics in processing, and so you can also lay the foundation for building damage unintentionally with ANY brick if you don’t have its particularities "in your blood". The same applies to individual properties: acoustic problems arise far more often from design and processing errors at the connection to other components, where the gap between good and bad is many times greater than the range covered by table lab values of the materials. Also, price-wise you never have complete freedom: every contractor has two bricks he mostly works with, between which he chooses preferably according to the current personal purchase price; you can form an opinion on that – for example also from test magazines – about which one you would prefer. But with a third brick he will also pass on the dealer’s defensive price to you, because he won’t get volume discount conditions on three bricks. Also, proportional relationships between material thickness and properties are unfortunately wishful thinking in reality, no matter what the calculation says. Complex systems NEVER behave linearly. Look your contractor deeply in the eyes and ask yourself two things: 1. Do you trust his character, and 2. Do you trust his abilities? Before that, don’t read too many test reports because you urgently need a "cattle dealer’s instinct" like .So, is the conclusion ultimately a matter of "taste" whether to choose filled Poroton or KS + ETICS. Both achieve KFW55 standard and both insulate so well that in the end the windows are the weakest link in the chain.[*]Is it also similar in price? [*]How about durability, in terms of "leaving something behind for the grandchildren" (in case there ever should be any)? [*]Bonus question: What minimum thickness should the interior walls of KS have to provide good sound insulation to the adjacent room?
