Why are access points always recommended and not LAN sockets with repeaters?

Why settle for leftovers when you can have the whole pig?

Can you explain that in more detail? What is the advantage of the access points?

I couldn’t read through everything now, so the question is whether there are already any ideas about which lighting groups one would like to switch separately in the huge open space? And from where one would like to switch which lamps? All the sockets are nicely listed, but not where and how many light switches will be installed.

What do you mean by "LAN sockets with repeaters"?

Every Wi-Fi repeater increases latency and reduces bandwidth. Moreover, they do not provide a good connection through concrete ceilings. So they are only a last resort for retrofitting, but not an option if you can still plan freely. With APs, each access point is connected directly to the router with at least 1GbE. Furthermore, with reasonable APs, clients can be distributed and handed over depending on reception.
