So he will probably not do anything at the window, of course that is annoying but I would bet that a correction in the end will not be proportionate. What is damaged there is also certainly only plaster. He should possibly just repair that and one would probably have to limit the opening angle. But otherwise I see hardly any options to correct this.

With the door, it should be checked what the cause is. First, clarify what is wrong with the spirit level. From my point of view, this point would also be more annoying, but whether there is a proportionate correction, I would also rather doubt. Because either the wall is crooked (plastered) or the door is installed crooked and a new installation would probably already exceed proportionality.

Hi,

I also didn’t think that the windows or the opening would be completely redone, I was more thinking that the upper lintel could be slightly beveled – so that the edge towards the room interior is enlarged upwards. Basically, slightly scraped off. Enough so that at least the top of the window frame no longer meets edge to edge with the curve of the wall. But let’s see what can be done.

The thing with the door is really annoying. But as long as it can’t be corrected proportionately, I’m curious to see what that will bring monetarily.

Cheers.

I am a bit shocked: You don’t know what kind of contract you have. Apparently, you signed it before the house was built because you were still able to change the floor plan after the windows were ordered. Of course, that puts you at a disadvantage, knowing that everything has already been ordered. Something must have been communicated to you as well, right?? Who was the client? Was it the developer, or was it you and the developer is a general contractor? At least, you should have been able to notice something on the construction site now and then (windows) and intervene?

Hi, yes, we were a bit shocked too. But well, that's how it is now and we have to get through it. You are always wiser afterwards. So, briefly again: We bought a turnkey terraced house. From a developer who is also the architect and client at the same time. When we bought it, the foundation walls were already standing and the windows and doors were ordered. So only internal layout changes were possible, which then resulted in certain windows opening the wrong way. But we knew that.

What is a GU??

Regards

The expert is to create a defect list for you. Then you must submit this to your [BT] with a formal deadline. Have you already paid everything? [GU] = general contractor

Hi,

the issue list is already in progress and will definitely be supplemented. I'll take note of the deadline, good point. No, we haven't paid everything yet - always step by step, back and forth.

Thanks
