Kitchen planning - does this fit? Or have we overlooked something?

Unfortunately, I cannot agree with my predecessors, because I simply find your kitchen MEGA(-:

Well, color is not really my thing, it's too dark for me, but it just looks great!

I would do Side by Side anytime again, even though I also like the solution presented above..... But I just like ice cubes and I think the look of such a thing is simply great.... it is the central highlight in our kitchen.

Key points in my opinion:

I see a 5-step grid. If possible, a 6-step grid is more advantageous. For that, you would need to agree on which countertop height is optimal for you.

It is generally said that with straight(!) standing and loosely hanging, bent arms, there should be no more than 10-15cm between the elbow and the countertop. I personally even prefer resting the elbows. I can chop with a straight back and support my forearms while doing so. I used to have to bend slightly for that.

For this reason, I favor a higher countertop, making a 6-step grid possible – and that is really practical.

Display cabinet doors in front of bar stools? Either or!

Is it possible to push the island a little further down in the plan? In that case, I would make the wall row deeper – the gain in storage space in the drawers is worth gold. 100 cm distance is good and should remain.

The upper cabinets above the sink? And the trash underneath? A classic situation where you tend to get in each other’s way. Impractical. Unfortunately, the upper cabinets can hardly go to the right because of the window...

Feel free to strike harmony and replace it with balance. I myself have not designed symmetrically for 25 years (avid readers here know that I’m talking about dynamic facades). But this kitchen is anything but uniform: there is no frame. The line runs out of the room through the window. The 40 cm cabinet next to the tall units does not improve that. The SBS itself is asymmetrical; there is simply no visual balance across the entire area of the tall units. My opinion.

What caught my eye in the first picture: The steam oven (?) is quite high up, isn't it? Door opening downwards? Is it still easy to reach, especially when handling hot dishes?

Otherwise, I basically think the kitchen is not bad; some things have already been mentioned that could possibly be improved, like the display cabinet doors.

But I am already looking forward to a photo of the finished kitchen :)
