: Of course you can sugarcoat your decision against controlled residential ventilation. But I am also allowed to express my opinion on it!
Quick question: Do you also have ventilation in your car? Not afraid because of that?

- Well, I don't need to take any additional measures for humidity.
- What's so bad about it running continuously? 10 or 15W power consumption on the lowest setting? My heating controllers or the timer-controlled roller shutters consume more!
- Maintenance costs, I can't deny that: But why should I care about nearly €80 a year if it always provides fresh filtered air?
- When I see what my filters filter out, I wonder where the high dust load should come from? Window ventilation is obviously not moved air?! Please name the study!
- I only hear my controlled residential ventilation on the highest level. But this is not even used during the shock ventilation function.
- I cannot understand the noise pollution and fine dust load caused by a controlled residential ventilation system versus a heavily trafficked street.

It has been a month since the last post ...
But we also built without a system. The developer advised against it.
KfW 70 with precast concrete walls + insulation. Period!

Just the video alone shows what kind of maintenance costs will come later.
You can't compare that to a car with air conditioning. Even with air conditioning, you still open the windows now and then.
Besides, 90% of the time I prefer to open the window a bit rather than use the air conditioning... except in the high summer, of course.

How does it actually look when you cook? Don’t system owners open the window?
In other words, you always ventilate sooner or later... Or do you no longer do shock ventilation?

So right now we don't have a ventilation system either (but we will in our new building, kfw55)

Sure, you can also do it yourself without these devices. But right now it’s really annoying to have to open windows several times everywhere every day so no mold forms. The lost heat is not insignificant. The radiators have a hard time... With a ventilation system you lose significantly less energy!

The example with the car was quite good, but was misunderstood. It didn't mean the air conditioning but the ventilation itself. You always have that on, right?!

The video is purely biased. But it has also been discussed many times.
In modern systems, filters prevent the pipes from getting dirty. If you want, you can cheaply make filters yourself from fabric by the meter.

No, why should we. The system runs in the background all day and ensures fresh air at all times.

Exactly, that's how it is! That is the purpose of the system: to retain the heating energy inside the house and still not give up on fresh air.

And I’m looking forward to my ventilation system
Is there anything better than fresh air after getting up without having to let in the cold? Or not having to blow dry foggy mirrors after showering

Yes, okay, there probably is. But in my opinion, the living comfort increases significantly. After many years, that would also be worth a maintenance to me!
