If you manage to do a quick ventilation 3-5 times a day spread throughout the day, it should also work without [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung].

I thought I'd put in a few more hygrometers to monitor the humidity and then everything would be fine....

Sure, that works. In cars, it used to work to dry fogged-up windows even without air conditioning!

Ultimately, you have to ask yourself whether you want to and can do that?!

PS: Do you have a car without air conditioning?

Well, in the car you mainly have the air conditioning to cool down and not to remove moisture. But to answer your question, yes my car has air conditioning... Basically, we are always only talking about the period from Nov. to Feb./March in which the controlled residential ventilation plays a crucial role. During the rest of the year, we have our windows "tilted open" anyway, so fresh air is automatically supplied or moisture exits... Are there any other experiences WITHOUT controlled residential ventilation and Kfw70 house with hollow brick walls without exterior insulation? Thanks in advance for the answers I can't imagine that the whole house will mold without controlled residential ventilation, but the internet has all kinds of stories...

And the side effect of cooling is? Right, dehumidifying!

But then I ask again, why do you have air conditioning in the car? For comfort? You can have this comfort in the house too! Ventilating after showering? Doesn’t matter. Fogged-up windows in the morning? No.

But if you want to ventilate, then do it! Whether your house then "molds away" depends on many things.
I would rather say October-April. But since I don’t have to ventilate (cold), I also don’t need heating for a little longer!

You sound like you’re just looking for arguments to save on a Controlled Residential Ventilation. But I don’t want to provide them to you.

The question is how long can I compensate for these ventilation losses by heating until I recoup the investment in the "ventilation system." And it has been mentioned several times in the forum that this investment in a ventilation system will probably never pay off in €, as long as I compensate by manual ventilation. If the house molds and I have to carry out extensive renovations, then the investment is, of course, quickly recouped. Otherwise, it is purely a gain in comfort.

We will also not install a controlled residential ventilation system in our house. Better a house without controlled residential ventilation than no house at all.

Although we will probably have to adjust quite a lot to ventilate that often. In our current apartment, the heat goes away even without ventilating, and depending on the weather, more moisture comes in when ventilating than goes out. So, we ventilate rather little.
