Yeah, I see it the same way. If the house smells like cat s*** and when you open the windows environmental noise, children screaming, exhaust fumes, and dirt stream in, that definitely speaks in favor of a controlled residential ventilation system.
A friend of mine has a controlled residential ventilation system and gets annoyed every time the farmer next door spreads manure on the field... Then he has the whole stench inside the house! Because of the controlled residential ventilation system... Without it, you have fewer problems there. It’s just as problematic when the neighbors stoke the wood stove in certain weather conditions... That also stinks badly.... Closed windows are still best against outside stench. Especially if there is no one who can turn off the ventilation when it smells outside.
