Is the cost of underfloor heating completely exaggerated?

We have exactly this feeling as well.... We are therefore considering leaving out the underfloor heating.

Good morning,

Does that mean a basemented one-story plus attic with a gable roof?

That reads more like "key in the lock and move in," so rather move-in ready. Is a ventilation system also planned?

"Usually" utility basements have a standard height of 2.20 to 2.25 m clear finished size. You mention EUR 12,000 for underfloor heating _also_ for the basement. Could it be that this price also includes raising the basement ceiling height to 2.50 m clear, as well as the installation of the technical equipment flush-mounted in the basement?

If it comforts you, this is now "normal" in all metropolitan areas; simply born out of the fact that building land is limited. On top of that, the requirements of the Energy Saving Ordinance must be met, there is a north-south gradient in craftsmen/material prices and building projects are already moving in price regions that were unthinkable only a few years ago.

Rhenish regards

I would seriously reconsider building in such cases with such sums and seemingly "cheap" equipment, whether one really wants that...

Or whether one would rather drive a few minutes longer to work and build a bit cheaper instead?

Underfloor heating nowadays omitted purely for cost reasons? Never...

For us, the additional costs for underfloor heating were around 8,000 euros.

However, we did not want underfloor heating anyway. With this opinion, we are still "odd birds" in today's time, but we do not regret the decision at all. Our radiators in the house are tiny and do not bother anyone. The climate is pleasant.

Many people do not even notice that we do not have underfloor heating. They are amazed when you tell them and swear up and down that they never saw any radiators....lol.

The financing bank had no problem with it. Even today, not every house is built with underfloor heating, far from it.

As compensation, it was suggested to install a chimney flue. That cost about 4,000. And we went ahead and did that.

Our underfloor heating cost around €6000 in total (including all pipes, HKVs, installation) for 190 sqm. What was or would be extra are thermostats and actuators – about €600. What is included in the €12K? The house surely also has screed and insulation.
