You then have the Sonos for multi-room or [Terrasse] in the system

You’re right, it doesn’t work. I was misinformed. You can only define Arc, Beam, Playbase (and accordingly Playbar) as complete front and then any individual speakers as rears. This also makes me see Sonos as a worse alternative for a home theater. : Why Sonos specifically? Do you already have that many? For home theater I would rather rely on a dedicated system with suitable passive speakers. In a new building, you can pull appropriate empty conduits for speaker cables or even speaker terminals to the designated locations...

Ok, I read the initial post more carefully again. The first thing I don't understand is why you want to use a Sonos Amp with Sonos One as a front setup. The Ones are active speakers, aren't they? So if Sonos as a streaming multiroom solution is important to you, I would rather go for a classic home cinema system with AVR and Sonos Port in the living area. Then use the already existing Play 1 in the adjacent rooms and on the terrace, the subwoofer as support in the most important adjacent room, and sell the Amp. If you still want to use the Amp in connection with classic stereo speakers and continue to use it, I would also set up the home cinema based on these stereo speakers (with Port and AVR). In the approach you have in mind, you will always only get 4.0 multichannel stereo with subwoofer support. That is not a real home cinema.

I would definitely not have the current solution installed in the ceiling. Eventually, you will want a different, newer system and then you will always have the holes in the ceiling that you no longer need. A flexible system with rails/stands etc. is clearly much more future-proof.

Well, you can also use the holes in the ceiling for something else or quickly close them up.

: You are absolutely right, my configuration was wrong! I combined an amp with old passive front speakers + subwoofer and I still have 2 Sonos Ones for the rear here. We replaced the old 5.1 system for aesthetic and practical reasons and now also use the Sonos in the living room to stream radio, songs, audiobooks, etc. from the NAS. My wife didn’t want and still doesn’t want to have this speaker standing around anymore. So a new 5.1 system is out of the question. For the front the bookshelf speakers + sub and then something on the ceiling are the only alternative currently possible. Nevertheless, of course I want to keep the option open to upgrade the system later. I was at the hi-fi store again this afternoon and they even said that the amp is not suitable for home cinema at all. Only in combination with a new ARC soundbar for 900 €. And that’s definitely wrong! (OR????) The amp can process and play 5.1 data input over the 2 front speakers, 2 Sonos wireless for rear plus the sub (and the center is simulated). Regarding the rear speakers: my wife won’t agree to put them on the walls. And putting another shelf behind the sofa might be possible but probably quite tight. Speaker stands are not an option. That leaves only the ceiling... Today in the store they advised against built-in speakers in the concrete ceiling without additional resonance space. That would be more for suspended ceilings. But the salesperson was right about one thing: I can do without network sockets, the amp’s wifi will definitely be strong enough. So I could now plan two ceiling outlets and have two speaker cables pulled there and then back to the TV. Then I could either control the Sonos wirelessly and possibly even later connect passive speakers via the speaker cable?!
