Flush-mounted radio experience?

I can also confirm a bad experience with Sonos. The UP Radio is only good for very quiet background beeping. Our solution: Canton InCeiling 865 DT stereo speakers in 3x bathroom, 2x hallway, 1x bedroom, and kitchen. For "Lala" and "announcements" from the BUS. Centrally wired (per speaker 4x 4mm²) each connected to an SMSL SA-50 (I am extremely satisfied), via USB sound card to a Linux box. Runs perfectly and certainly doesn't produce worse sound quality than Sonos. It's also significantly cheaper... Apple stuff won't come into my house anyway... so I don't need Sonos for that.

I have another question, does an in-wall radio from another manufacturer actually fit into a Busch Jäger box? Is the size standardized?

I am currently also dealing with the topic. I would like to install a flush-mounted radio with Bluetooth. Is it possible that Gira has taken its Bluetooth docking station off the market? The radio itself has no Bluetooth. Has anyone installed a flush-mounted radio that can be turned on just by connecting? As speakers, I am aiming for 2x Magnat IC62. Thanks

that was the reason why my brother installed the "Jung Digitalradio Smart Radio DAB+ Bluetooth Unterputz" in each of his bathrooms on his side. They fit into the Gira 55 frames and work quite well, but soundwise are far from HiFi.

I saw that too. But I wouldn’t choose the flush-mounted speakers; rather something "better". Then the sound should at least be sufficient. Is a Bluetooth connection enough to turn it on, or does it always have to be turned on manually to establish a connection at all?

Do you really have no space for a proper radio in any cabinet? The sound quality is all lousy. And you could also take a regular radio on vacation or something like that.
