Or speakers in the ceiling and a SonosAmp in the basement/server cabinet. I personally install a LAN connection at the appropriate places and then mount a HomePod or Sonos on the wall.

Hi we have installed invisible speakers in the ceiling. Additionally, I have integrated tactile transducers into the bathtub and the sauna. The music is controlled via Gira UP Radio with Bluetooth connection. Additionally, cables for possible multiroom have been pulled into the distribution. I have not yet given any thought to the outside, as the garden cannot be tackled yet.

We have installed 1-2 Canton InCeiling 865 DT in each of the 3x bathrooms, living room, bedroom, hallway, and terrace, and we are super satisfied! Great sound (and I am very sensitive about that) and absolutely inconspicuous. It requires 4x 1.5sqm to 2.5sqm speaker cables each. Thanks to EchoInput, Alexa now only speaks through the Canton speakers. It works great. We come home, and Alexa automatically greets us with the most important information from the Canton speakers.

Hello,

thank you very much for your feedback! So it should definitely be a permanent installation. I have also already thought about a Sonos box in a corner of the bathroom. Visually, I like the solution with the Canton InCeiling even better. But I don't know if that is so easily feasible for us.

I don't want to say that sound is not important to me, but we don't spend forever in the bathroom. I don't fit into any bathtub anyway... and my wife doesn't care about such things. I just want to be able to listen to good music while showering! Not throwing a party in the bathroom .

I have also thought about invisible speakers. I just wonder how well they hold up, because if they break or you need to access them, it’s a big hassle, right?

The same applies to the terrace. It’s more about background music when sitting outside with friends...

Edith: am I right in thinking that the Canton inCeiling are not BT capable? I actually want to avoid having to lay speaker cables as well.

I’m not Edith, but I can help: Speakers can generally only be operated wirelessly if they are active, meaning they have their own amplifier. This is not the case with the Canton InCeiling. If you’re not an audio enthusiast, something like this could be your solution at Vast, for example the model V-BTS580H+.
