thanks for the review. How long have you had the second Ikea one now? Do you have to choose something specific? So are there both bad and good assembly parts to choose from? Or has IKEA simply improved the kitchen quality in general?

The cabinets are called Metod. For the drawers, there are two variants, Förvara and Maximera. The Förvara are not full-extension drawers and do not slide as smoothly as the others. The best combo is Metod + Maximera. That is also not very expensive. Then there is the front to consider. Depending on the front choice, this can add a bit to the cost. But only a little. Still within the price range of some other kitchens.

That was already known to me, but with the rails or or hinges or other non-visible mounting parts there aren't two qualities?

No, there isn't. When you have chosen the cabinet, drawers, and front, the "working parts" must necessarily be purchased as well. There is only one version of them.

It is exactly as describes it. The only thing that can drive up the original price are the fronts. We have Ringhult (white glossy lacquer) with the almost 8cm thick countertop also in white with a wide aluminum edge in front. This front is affordable and I really like it; along with simple handles made of aluminum or stainless steel and you have a really good kitchen. We only have drawers and they run perfectly. I would do it the same way again immediately. I like going to a specialty store, but for kitchen furniture I’m now absolutely into IKEA. No sales pressure, good service when planning; you just have to find someone for the assembly, but the kitchen studio often outsources that to someone anyway. Moreover, it’s not rocket science. Countertop with sink can already be delivered flush from the factory, someone comes to the house beforehand for measurements and the €100 cost is credited afterwards. He measured for us (windowsill 2cm) and then we got a new countertop without problems. Here are 2 pictures from the old apartment (unfortunately could only be placed a bit boringly as a row back then), now we have expanded it with an island etc., basically as a modular kitchen (I currently can’t find a recent picture of it). All cabinets are simply hung on a wall rail.

I have the Veddinge front with leather handles and wooden countertop. I am also very satisfied. Especially because the Veddinge is the cheapest front. That was a surprise, I didn't know that when I bought it. I couldn't say what a more expensive kitchen would do better than this. Except for more options in standard sizes.
