We had a top nubert 5.1 system.. But with four children, the TV habits change, etc., or there is simply not that much time for it anymore. Besides, the rear speakers were in the way because of the new couch. So we switched to the Sonos system. In the process, the AV receiver, DVD player, and CD player were also disposed of... the living room is now clean... However, that does not mean it has to stay that way forever. And because the couch in the new living room "stands in the room," you can't just lay cables into every corner. That is our problem... I have written an email directly to Sonos regarding the AMP. Let's wait and see if they get back to me.

I don't agree with that as a general statement.

There are definitely good arguments for active speakers. But only if you do it right (which does get a bit more expensive).
And that there are many affordable passive speakers that sound better than the Play 1, I would also agree with that.

: Does that mean you’ve already experienced the new system? Didn’t it make you long for it? I understand that personal preferences and demands differ, but I couldn’t do it. That will be another point of discussion with my wife once the house is finished...
But you can easily install my recommended positions A and B in the shell of the building. I understand that A might be rejected by your wife, but B? You’d probably place something there anyway. Otherwise, I would rather build an enclosure for the speakers into the wall there than put them in the ceiling.

then don't spend your money on more Sonos, you won't reach the sound of the Nubert 5.1 and will always be dissatisfied

Passive speakers were used in the test and they sounded better than Sonos, active speakers from third-party providers do not connect to the system

There are reference systems 5.1 and 5.0 from Nubert in very small sizes, both active and passive.
With us, the bass box was removed, too big and bulky,
and with 4 children, the speakers have to be mounted high up and very securely anyway.
When our children were small, the cube speakers were placed in the 4 corners 20cm below the ceiling,
the calibration system also covers your listening position in the middle of the room
Best regards, Nida

A position a and b do not work. Only possible behind the couch (little space and cables from where?) or ceiling, there it disturbs the least. Yes, no money will be spent on another amp or arc. At most for Sonos One, how can you then still put it in the bathroom or wherever else.

Oh, you referred that to the test. I thought you meant it in general. But with a Sonos Port you can also integrate third-party active speakers (or passive ones with an AVR). Ok, with so many restrictions and since you say you don’t watch much home cinema anymore anyway, I would completely refrain from the constant installation of the rears. Get stands that you only set up when you want to watch a movie. Then one can also stand in front of the glass wall or whatever that is (to the right behind the sofa), that would be the better position for the SR speaker. In everyday life the Ones are just used somewhere (e.g., terrace & kitchen). What do you still need the AMP for if you have done away with all the passives and only use Ones?
