Yesterday we were at Ikea. Something was 'different' than last time. My feelings of happiness were missing. Even today, the assembly was rather unsatisfying.
But from the beginning: I am used to the fact that after the new catalog comes out, Ikea always somehow offers many new things in the presentation or in the sales rooms. Yes, some "rooms" were new, but the sofa, bed, and table departments somehow were not at all. There was no new eye-catcher. Really bad: dining tables and sofas looked more like clearance sale items. Nothing was decorated or nicely arranged [emoji33] I only vaguely noticed the kitchens. Hardly around the corner, there was already the appliances as well as the planner department – normally there are always two large eye-catcher kitchens set up where you can see all kinds of cabinets and get inspired. Well, now: at least I was not encouraged to buy other parts that were not on my list [emoji1]
We needed LED bulbs for our outdoor wall lights: they are from Ikea, as are the LED bulbs. One of them is defective. We need 7W with 260 lumens so that it shines like the others ... but that no longer exists! There are only 5W with different lumens. Where have the outdoor lamps gone anyway? They don’t exist anymore???? In every corner were these 5-watt parts, but no 7-watt ... so we now had to buy 4 pieces (instead of one or two) with 5 watts for all our outdoor lights [emoji36].
Then I spontaneously had the idea to buy under-lights, that is rails under our new bedside consoles. This saves us the indirect cozy lighting in the form of two floor lamps by the bed: here they apparently have radically reduced the range: on a few square meters, you have to distinguish between work lighting, indirect lighting, closet lighting, and strip lighting. That’s not easy when the merchandise is jumbled in the shelves anyway, because other customers also pick things up and don’t remember where they actually belong.
Luckily, my husband saw that I wanted to buy closet lighting, and I discovered that my husband was holding the expensive work lighting. But we found what we wanted in the end ... so we hope [emoji6]
Actually, I wanted two white Besta at 30 cm height with doors, which should serve as bedside tables. Nicely mounted on the wall, as I already mentioned, as console tables. Cost per piece 30€.
My husband liked the drawer version from Eket much better. Well then, we swallow: 85€ each for these parts.
Ok, we still want them. I have been looking for bedside tables for 3 years, know the prices, and know what is not available on the market [emoji6]
Unfortunately: there is no longer any shelf and compartment information on the little reference cards on the furniture [emoji35] Since when has that been the case????
Hm, we then had to rely on the PCs in the warehouse. Unfortunately, we didn’t remember "Eklet," so we had to browse the catalog first, then at the PC between storage, shelving systems, drawer elements, bedside tables rather less, series, which to choose. My husband already went to a separate PC and cleverly looked up Eklet directly.
I wouldn’t have been surprised if only one such part lay in the compartment (that somehow always happens to us), but there were still plenty there. Then we went to the bargain corner, where almost nothing was advertised. That is also very rare at Ikea.
-> And my husband still asks me if the wall rail for wall mounting is included. And I say: at that price everything should be included ... of course it wasn’t included, which we just discovered now during assembly [emoji20]
After the first carcass was already assembled, the second carcass came. And what do we see? We see a really nasty air bubble worked into the top: I have never seen or had that before and tomorrow it will drive me into a traffic jam on the A1 – but whatever: I have to buy wall rails anyway [emoji14]

But then I looked more closely: the other carcass has it too, just a bit smaller on the inside. I think for 85€, it’s really an unsatisfying thing [emoji20]
