Hello everyone,

I have purchased a HUTTRA built-in refrigerator because it fits perfectly under the countertop.

From the old systems, I am used to always integrating a ventilation grille on top of the countertop.
Is this still necessary with new refrigerators like HUTTRA, or is everything handled by the integrated under-counter refrigeration system, and I only need to provide a ventilation grille at the front?

Unfortunately, this is not explicitly described in the installation instructions or manual.

Thank you in advance

Hello, no ventilation grille is needed in the countertop.

Hello Ikea expert,

do you know that from experience or just because it is not shown in the pictures? According to the pictures, the small white plastic opening on the refrigerator should not be removed either; but behind this is the fan and it would not be able to draw air if the plastic remains in front of it.

As far as I know, all built-in refrigeration units from IKEA are ventilated through the plinth. Is the fan located directly behind the cover, or could air be drawn in from the side through a ventilation channel?

If you are unsure, call customer service. The phone number is at the very back of the user manual.

The fan is located behind here:

The flap must be opened and you can see it.
I think a grille should then be installed in the front of the baseboard, or if I put a 60x80 panel in front, integrate it into the bottom of the panel.

Under no circumstances will a grille be installed in the front. I suspect that on one side it blows out through the slots and on the other side it sucks in air. For this, the cover at the bottom would have to remain in place. If that is the case and the slots are above the base, then no ventilation grille is needed at all, just as shown in the manual. Connect it and test where it blows and where it sucks in air. It could also suck in air through the bottom and blow out through all the ventilation slots.
