Does anyone have experience with an IKEA induction cooktop?

Thank you very much for the detailed answer, fotokatze

Now I understand: The slider is not a slider at all but 10 buttons next to each other with the respective cooking level.
The question remains for the Folklig owners (Sandra?):
Does adjusting the cooking level with the +/- buttons bother you, or is it manageable?
After all, the TYDLIG, which also has direct cooking level selection, already costs about 100 euros more...
Best regards

Isn't there someone in your circle of acquaintances who has a /- field where you can cook sometime? Whether Sandra or I or anyone else can live with it doesn't matter, YOU have to be satisfied with it in the long run.

Hi,

I have the HIN4T, the predecessor of Folklig, and I am satisfied with it. I find the /- thing straightforward and the beeping not annoying; it’s just a confirmation that something is happening on the cooktop. With Folklig, you can now also turn it off.

Folklig is a top device at a top price. One improvement over its predecessor is, for example, that you have to place your pots on the crosses, not inside the circles anymore. It is always said that the cooktop recognizes the pots as long as they are smaller. This is basically true, but I have a pot that only works on 2 of the 4 zones because the other two simply don’t recognize it. Annoying but not dramatic.

In the end, you have to decide how much "gimmick" your cooktop needs. For beginners and average cooks, Folklig is great. For people who like to cook a lot and perhaps like to show the super-duper-hyper-stylish kitchen to friends or cook with a show, the larger cooktops with sliders are just right. I belong rather to the first group, but if a bargain came up or the cooktop broke, a slider would definitely be an option...

PS: Especially around Christmas time, customers are cooked for in most Ikea stores. Real show chefs stand in display kitchens and conjure up great things and willingly explain the functions of the appliances they use on the side. You should find dates for this on Ikea’s site for your store.

Thank you, Nayla.

So, as you describe it, I can live with that too.

something else:
How loud are the IKEA cooktops?
I’ve been told that the induction cooktops have a fan compared to the normal ceramic cooktops, and that can be somewhat unpleasantly loud on some cooktops.
How would you rate the noise level of your induction cooktops?
best regards

Hi,

I can only speak about my cooktop again.

You hear a buzzing and a clicking when the cooktops adjust. All very quiet, no louder than a whisper. I usually have music on in the kitchen or people are talking, then you don’t notice any of the mentioned sounds at all. Even the sizzling of the schnitzel drowns out the tones.

Hello Boss!

You can hear clicking from our field when it rains. But to perceive it, everything else has to be off: dishwasher off, fridge not running, tap closed, radio off, conversation off, breathing off, no schnitzel in the pan, espresso machine not heating

then I can sometimes hear it...

When we do canning and heat up the big 34-liter pot with 8 liters at full blast, you can hear a kind of fan from the stove area, if you want.

But nothing that annoys you!
