Ideas for the floor plan and possibly some tips?

I think the floor plan is quite well done overall. I would skip a shower on the ground floor, as it would otherwise become too cramped, as Doc already mentioned. I also find the lack of storage options in the house a problem. Only one room for 2 households? I find that very little. How will the guest rooms be used? Is there still an attic? Would it possibly be an option to reduce the size of the guest room on the ground floor and move the WC and the wardrobe to the other side? Then you could make a kind of small utility room where you currently have the wardrobe and the WC. If you then move the kitchen wall a few centimeters, you can make really good use of it. If the guest room becomes too small, you could also move the wall to the living room a bit. 5.55 meters from the couch to the TV wall is plenty, 20-30 cm less wouldn’t really be noticeable. And then you would also have the possibility to actually plan a shower in the WC. Damn, I just realized that’s not possible, it’s a semi-detached house and the guest room would then be without natural light. Bad idea. :-( - I would possibly plan a narrow strip window above the couch – but that depends on the view.

Hello,

just an idea:

In the guest WC, you could place the toilet at a 45° angle in the outer corner, the sink at a 45° angle in the corner next to the door, and in the corner between them (towards the kitchen) place a triangular shower.

I think this could work space-wise...

Regards,

Dirk

Short note: What is your first route when you enter the front door? Stairs or cloakroom? If you go to the cloakroom first, I would change the door hinge, otherwise you always have to close the front door before you get to the cloakroom. Possibly even swap the stairway and cellar entrance, then you don’t always have to go through the dirty area when you come down the stairs.

I had thought about that too, but the swap would at least make the attic in the planned form impossible.

Not really. Only the entrance to the bathroom would have to be changed. And whether the parents or the children take the longer route around the stairs, it amounts to the same thing.

That is correct. However, if you relocate the bathroom entrance, the entrance niche will also disappear, and after about 1.10 m you will already be under the two-meter line. Even without any indication of the knee wall height and the roof pitch, it would probably feel very cramped. Visually, this solution probably wouldn't look very nice...
