Hello Michael,
My uncle can install the windows for me, if that would make a big difference in price.
I don’t think so. Much more important to consider is that hardly any general contractor/subcontractor will supply the windows and then have them installed by the builder or his agents. That only works if contracting through an architect.
What is important to me ...
I can skip an example calculation here, since you definitely will not make do with the capital mentioned; not even if you were to commission a refined shell construction. The materials for the interior finishing also have to be paid for, diligent helpers insured, and a fair amount of fixed incidental construction costs as well.
What am I better off with? Prefabricated timber house or can I definitely afford a solid house?
Maybe you should just read in a bit here ...? It is a widespread misconception that a prefabricated house is cheaper than a solidly built building. Which provider is more valuable below these categories would - theoretically - depend on your yet-to-be-made selection.
I just want a solid house with acceptable equipment, no mansion etc.
The most sensible advice I can give you remains to save or to keep an eye out for an existing property which you can renovate bit by bit with borrowed, saved, or ongoing income. The alternative: You literally fall for the lure offers of some competitors and soon end up with a huge problem, the only solution to which may be personal bankruptcy.
Rhine greetings
