Difficult topic!

So - actually I would need about 10. There is always (central/mid) too few here. Honestly, if I were to build again today, I would definitely install 10 there.

In the middle where the TV is, I only have 4. Of course, that’s not enough for all the stuff, so again a hidden power strip, but one that can be switched off.

2 on the left next to the living wall, 2 on the right. That’s okay. Plus a switchable socket for the living wall LED lighting.

4*LAN at the TV.

2*SAT

I wouldn't go for a (partly) expensive power strip fest there, because the same can be achieved with a high-quality power strip that is built into the furniture.

The normative force of the factual forced me to do so.

I have 10 individually switchable ones, one of them USB for phones, additionally 4x LAN and 2x Sat... all simply not at the usual 30cm height but 20, so the cabling and socket orgy is invisible behind the lowboard

I wouldn’t do less nowadays and I’m also against multiple strips... I think they have no place in new buildings...

What is 4 x LAN for?

At a height of 30 cm, we have 5 x sockets and 2-way LAN and 1-way SAT. Additionally, there is an empty conduit upwards with another socket. Goal: TV on wall mount, power from the wall, SAT and network through the empty conduit. The 5+1 sockets are switchable. On the same wall, there is also a 2-way socket in the corner (active speaker, lamp, whatever).

Not everything is finished yet on our side, but so far there are: 4 power outlets, 2 of which are switchable (TV and accessories, like game consoles etc., Hi-Fi receiver separate outlet), 4 LAN ports (TV, PVR, AV receiver, Blu-ray player) two empty conduits with two outlet boxes behind the couch (for Real Speaker and possibly HDMI) and one empty conduit to the server cabinet (possibly also HDMI).

I find 10 power outlets excessive, of course you can connect everything directly, but sometimes I prefer a power strip because it’s easier to reach when you need to.
